• Bargate rewarded for quality

Bargate Homes is proud to be a NHBC registered house builder and has recently been awarded the highest accolade – a Premium Rating of A1.

NHBC is the UK’s leading independent standard-setting body and provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. Their purpose is to work with the house-building industry to raise the standards of new homes and to provide protection for homebuyers in the form of their Buildmark warranty and insurance.

The Premium Rating scheme rewards those that build good quality homes and encourages others to follow suit.  There are 17 ratings in total and A1 recognises the longest serving homebuilders with the best claims records.

But what does this mean for you? The Buildmark scheme offers protection and is the UK’s leading new home warranty.  It’s trusted by mortgage lenders – and means that every home must be built in accordance with NHBC standards, with inspectors visiting our developments at key stages during construction. We are delighted to be leading the way with our Premium Rating.

  • Fantastic new homes for Fair Oak

Fantastic new homes for Fair Oak

Fair Oak is a fabulous location and a particular favourite of ours at Bargate. So we’re delighted to tell you that we have completed the purchase of another site in the village.
We have a history of building beautiful homes here – and it’s home to us too!
Our new development called Park Meadow comprises 17 family homes and work is starting immediately in this sought-after area.
The three and four-bed homes will have huge appeal to those wanting to enjoy village living, surrounded by lots of open space, yet close enough to main transport links for an easy commute.
Fair Oak is perfect for families, with great schools in its catchment, as well as a good selection of shops, a post office, a pub and other amenities – including the 35-acre Knowle Park which backs on to the development.
As part of our commitment to the village, Bargate will also be building new, modern parish hall for the village to enjoy.
We are expecting to launch Park Meadow late 2016. Please click here to register for updates.

  • Huge success at Allbrook Meadow

Adding to our portfolio of finished developments, we built, sold and completed all 50 family homes at our Allbrook Meadow development in just 18 months.
Allbrook Meadow comprised 44 family homes and six apartments on a 4.6-acre site in Allbrook, Eastleigh.
Its location was one of the unique selling points of the development with many buyers jumping at the chance to live in a countryside setting yet close to main transport links. Significantly it is also in the catchment of two highly ranked schools.
Sales and Marketing Director Robert Lambie said: “This has been one of our most successful schemes to date, we certainly did not anticipate that it would all be built and everyone moved in within such a short space of time.
“The location is very special and as it is in the catchment areas for both Otterbourne Primary and Thornden School it’s been a real hit with families. It just goes to show that our ethos of building quality homes in places people actually want to live is the right one!
As well as being surrounded by beautiful Hampshire countryside, we also created an 11-acre community field at Allbrook bedecked with wild flowers, a lychgate and children’s wooden play area.
Such has been the success at Allbrook Meadow, we are about to launch Hazelwood – 20 three and four-bedroom homes – close by this fabulous location. Please click here for more information on Hazelwood.

  • The top interior trends that are perfect for now

The top interior trends that are perfect for now

Bargate Homes has always appreciated the importance of an excellent finish. That’s why we fit our homes with such high-quality appliances, kitchens, bathrooms and flooring. We know our customers are eager to put their own stamp on their new homes and that’s much easier when the basics are right.
But how do you personalise your new home? Especially if you are down or upsizing? Interior trends seem to change as frequently as those in the fashion world – and we know they often mirror them – but you don’t have to spend a fortune to give your new Bargate home the latest look.
Accent the trend for Carrara marble with a few marble-themed accessories; a clock, perhaps, or coasters or a pair of candlesticks.
Botanical and tropical prints can be found in so many new interiors ranges so all it will take to update in this hot style are a few cushions, throws, or prints.
Favourite themes such as coastal are back, but in a simplified, pared-down form that will look as good in the depths of winter as on these sunny, summer days.
And the long-running interior theme around typography shows no sign of fading anytime soon. Search out oversized vintage letters or numbers, or contact a letterpress or bespoke printer to create personalised typographic artwork for you.

  • Allbrook Meadow, Customer Testimonial

    Allbrook Meadow, Customer Testimonial

At Bargate we pride ourselves on detail – making sure our homes are finished to the highest standards and our customers receive impeccable service.  Many housebuilders will say the same, but we deliver.
Mr Main has experience of buying new build homes and has recently purchased a new home at our Allbrook Meadow development in Allbrook.
He said: “I have bought new homes before, but the Bargate finish and quality is head and shoulders above other companies.
“The teams, including those on-site and in the sales office, were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and any queries were answered very quickly. We had a hiccup on the way when we lost our buyer on the house we were selling a couple of weeks before exchange, but after speaking to Head Office I was very reassured that we would have more time and not to worry.
“It has been very clear from the start that customer satisfaction is a very high priority, and from our point of view, that has certainly been achieved.
“We have been made to feel very welcome when we arranged a site visit to see how progress was going, having every stage of the build explained to us to give us both confidence in what was happening on site. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Even after we moved in, the small snags were dealt with very quickly.
“From a purchaser’s point of view, these teams are a huge asset to Bargate.”

  • Bargate Homes welcomes a new Administrator

Meet Claire Marks, who joins our team as an Administrator.
Claire has 11 years’ experience in the new homes industry and joins us from Linden Homes. She will be supporting the Bargate team across the board, but specifically working with our Land & Planning and Sales & Marketing teams.

  • New Bargate homes coming to Fair Oak

Our White Tree Farm development will not only be a fantastic location to call home for our Bargate customers, but also for Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council.

We are delighted to announce that we have secured planning permission for our scheme of 17, two, three and four-bed homes. Adjacent to Knowle Park’s 35 acres of public open space, it’s perfect for families especially with Fair Oak on its doorstep. Fair Oak is an ideal location to call home boasting fantastic infant, junior and secondary schools, a village church, numerous pubs and shops, a pharmacy and a petrol station.

As part of this scheme, we are also providing the parish council with brand new office space.
We plan to begin work during Spring 2016 and can’t wait to get started on this development so close to our Bargate home! To register your interest in this development please click here.

  • Another happy land owner!

“As a landowner, there’s always the risk that when you take out an option with a developer that they’ll not proactively promote it. However, I’m very pleased with how we’ve been represented by Bargate Homes, right from the start, they have acted in a very professional manner, been in constant contact, actively promoting my land through to a positive conclusion. I could have gone to any developer but my wife and I wanted someone who was more relevant locally.

We value Bargate Homes’ local knowledge and interest in making developments in Hampshire work – not something I feel you’d get with a national housebuilder.

It was important to us that we had someone who was sympathetic to the location as well as stylish designers.

We bought our land 12 years ago and being on a village boundary we knew it had potential. We didn’t have the time ourselves so we chose Bargate to present it in the best possible light.

They were very honest and transparent form the start and ticked all the boxes. They entered us into the SHLAA (Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment) process and our land was selected as a development site by Winchester City Council as part of a government initiative.

Bargate made sure we fully understood the procedure.

We’ve never done anything like this before; although I’ve always believed the old adage “buy land – they’ve stopped making it”.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. Would I choose Bargate Homes again? Absolutely!”

  • Buy to Let – still a good investment?

Buy to Let – still a good investment?

There will always be an ongoing debate about the viability of property as a sound opportunity for investors.
Figures will naturally vary around the country, but at Bargate we see a large share of our business attributed to buy to let sales which we value and encourage.
At our Allbrook Meadow development in Allbrook we have seen a number of investors including accountant Gillian Pizzey and her husband, from Chandlers Ford. They bought a three-bed house at Allbrook Meadow as their first buy to let investment.
“We had been talking about doing something like this for a while because our capital wasn’t getting a very good return in the bank due to low interest rates. We also wanted an investment for our children and to top up our pensions.
“We decided we would buy a house to let, but spent 12 months looking for the right place. When we saw Bargate’s Allbrook development it just seemed to tick all the boxes. It was a new build, so upkeep would be cheaper and in a great area with good schools in its catchment – all things that matter to families.
“The development had a lovely feel to it and we were delighted that the house we bought also commanded a higher rent than we first thought. So not only are we getting a good yield on that rent but will also benefit in the long term of an increase in the value of the house.
“Having never done anything like this before, I was also surprised at how simple the process was through our bank and such is the demand for quality homes to rent, we found a tenant before we’d even instructed agents!
“We’d be really tempted now to look for another property to build a portfolio, but only if we could have the same experience as we’ve had with Bargate!”

  • Bargate arrives at Over Wallop

We are loving the simplicity of this abstract propeller for the identity of our new development in Over Wallop.
The Landings development, of 35, two, three and four-bed homes will fit in beautifully in this quintessentially English village with its pub, shop and church and we can’t wait to get started!
