• Bargate becomes first-ever Official Chapel Stand Partner of Southampton FC

We’re proud to announce a landmark extension of our partnership with Southampton Football Club, becoming the Official Chapel Stand Partner and the first Official Stand Partner in the history of St Mary’s Stadium.

It marks an exciting new chapter in a relationship that began in 2023, when we joined Southampton FC as a Regional Partner, before becoming the club’s Official New Homes Partner in 2025.

As a Hampshire-based housebuilder with a growing presence across the South, our partnership with Saints has always been about more than brand visibility. It provides an opportunity to support one of the region’s most recognised sporting institutions while investing in fans and the communities where we build.

Over the past three years, we’ve worked together to deliver a range of fan and community initiatives. These have included providing 150 complimentary Saints Soccer Schools places for pupil premium-eligible students, supporting the Saints Foundation’s Senior Saints Christmas Dinner, and establishing The Bargate Sensory Room at St Mary’s Stadium, helping to create a more accessible and inclusive matchday experience.

Our work together has also gained national recognition, earning recognitionat the UK Sponsorship Awards 2025.

As Official Chapel Stand Partner, Bargate branding will now feature prominently throughout the Chapel Stand and Chapel Fan Zone, putting us at the heart of the matchday experience. We’ll also continue as Southampton FC’s Official New Homes Partner, with the expanded relationship creating further opportunities for fan-first and community-led initiatives across Hampshire.

Mark White, Managing Director, said: “It’s a real privilege for Bargate to put our name to the Chapel Stand and to share a first with Southampton Football Club. This reflects how far our partnership has developed, but also our ambition as a growing regional housebuilder.

“Sport has an incredible ability to bring people and communities together, and we’re looking forward to using this next chapter to create even stronger connections across Hampshire and the wider South, investing in the communities where we build.”

Greg Baker, Chief Revenue Officer at Southampton Football Club, added: “Over the past three seasons, Bargate has continually demonstrated its commitment to the club, our supporters and our local community. Together, we’ve delivered a range of initiatives that have made a genuine difference, and we’re excited to build on that success through this enhanced partnership.

“As we celebrate 25 years of St Mary’s Stadium, it’s fitting that the stadium’s first-ever stand partnership is with an organisation that shares our south coast roots, our values and our ambition to make a positive impact.”

We’re continuing to grow our support for sport and community initiatives across the region, from our partnership with Southampton FC, through to grassroots football and cricket.

We’re incredibly proud to share this historic first with Southampton FC and look forward to seeing the Bargate name become part of the Chapel Stand for seasons to come.

  • Approval secured for 25-home scheme in Whiteparish

Bargate has secured Reserved Matters planning approval from Wiltshire Council for our 25-home residential scheme in the sought-after village of Whiteparish.

Located on land south of A27 Romsey Road, the 1.7-hectare (4.2-acre) site received outline planning permission in 2024, with Reserved Matters submitted in November 2025. The approved scheme will deliver a mix of one- to five-bedroom open-market homes, First Homes and affordable properties to be delivered in partnership with VIVID, Hampshire’s largest, not-for-profit provider of affordable homes.

Mark White, Managing Director, said: “The Bargate design team, alongside our architect KSA, have worked tirelessly to design a high-quality and well-designed scheme to complement this pretty village while delivering much-needed homes for a range of buyers. We are particularly pleased to be delivering affordable homes and First Homes, which will allow couples and families to remain in the village, alongside a range of open market properties. New parkland, footpaths and play areas will be created for the whole community to enjoy.

“We are also grateful to secure another planning consent via delegated powers, highlighting the quality of the submission and our positive discussions with Wiltshire Council throughout the planning process. We now look forward to commencing this site and seeing our proposals take shape.”

The development has been designed to reflect the character of the village, including traditional red-brick elevations, bay windows, and scalloped tile hanging. The layout has been carefully considered to minimise the visual prominence of vehicles, with parking provided on-plot, within garages and in small, discreet groupings.

In line with Bargate’s environmental commitments, all homes will be energy efficient and include green technologies as standard, such as solar PV panels, air-source heat pumps, high levels of insulation, and EV charging points.

A significant proportion of the site will be dedicated to green infrastructure. Nearly two acres of public parkland will be created, incorporating a play area, wildflower planting and sustainable drainage features (SuDS) to enhance biodiversity and manage surface water. In addition, an extensive footpath network takes walkers northwards to West Dean, or southwards to the forest trails and attractions of the New Forest.

Located between Salisbury and Romsey, Whiteparish was crowned the ‘Best Kept Village in Wiltshire’ in 2022, and benefits from a range of local amenities, including a village store, two pubs, a 12th-century church, primary school, GP surgery and recreation ground.

The site is well connected, with a bus stop directly opposite providing services to nearby villages, while rail links from Dean, Salisbury and Romsey offer convenient connections to Southampton, London and Bristol. By road, the A27, A36 and M27 provide efficient access across the region and beyond.

With planning consent now secured, we will progress pre-construction preparations, with works on site expected to commence in 2027.

  • Bargate makes New Forest Show debut

We enjoyed a successful first appearance as an exhibitor at this year’s New Forest & Hampshire County Show, welcoming hundreds of visitors to our stand over the three-day event.

The impressive stand was designed in partnership with our Southampton-based interior partner, The Garden Society, who also create Bargate’s award-winning show homes. The idea was to give visitors a genuine flavour of a Bargate home, showcasing our signature interior design, specification and attention to detail. Beautiful floral displays by Blooms completed the welcoming space.

Visitors were invited to relax with a complimentary alcohol-free refreshment from the bar, pick up a Bargate dog lead for their four-legged companions and explore our interactive map highlighting our current and forthcoming developments across Hampshire and the New Forest.

These included Shepherds Green in Hordle, Heritage Place at North Stoneham Park, Admirals Green at our award-winning Rivercross development in Warsash, Horizon Wood in Pennington, along with a number of exciting new communities due to launch over the coming months.

Our team also welcomed New Forest District Councillor David Penny, who stopped by to find out more about Bargate’s growing portfolio of developments.

Visitors also had the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a luxury four-piece rattan garden furniture set, which proved to be one of the most popular attractions across the event.

Mark White, Managing Director at Bargate, said: “The New Forest Show gave us a fantastic opportunity to meet people face to face, introduce Bargate to new audiences and showcase the quality and character that runs through all of our developments. We were delighted by the response and would like to thank everyone who visited our stand. We look forward to returning next year.”
