Family uses Bargate Part-Exchange to buy dream home at Heritage Place

Sarah Taylor, 43, her teenage daughter Callie and their much-loved pets have moved to Bargate’s Heritage Place development in Eastleigh, after purchasing one of our Belvedere homes.

Heritage Place is part of the award-winning 120-acre North Stoneham Park scheme and marks the final phase of this prestigious development. Set on a former deer park on the outskirts of Eastleigh, Southampton, the £97 million new community is delivering 322 eco-friendly family homes, with prices ranging from £485,000 to £715,000.

The Taylors’ semi-detached, four-bedroom house features an open-plan kitchen and dining area with double doors that open onto the garden, a separate living room, and a garage with off-street parking. Upstairs, there’s a principal bedroom with an ensuite, two double bedrooms, a single bedroom or study, and a family bathroom.

Sarah, a finance manager, shared her story: “My daughter and I had been living in a three-bedroom end-of-terrace house in Knightwood, Chandlers Ford, for several years. Over time, we began to outgrow the space, especially with our pets – two dogs and a cat. We started thinking about needing more room and considered either extending our current home or moving to a larger one.

“One day, out of curiosity, I noticed the Heritage Place development being advertised and decided to check it out. I’d heard of Bargate before and had looked them up – they had a solid reputation for high-quality homes and excellent customer service.

“The moment Callie and I stepped inside one of the homes, we both knew it was perfect for us. At the time, I wasn’t in a position to make the move, so I left thinking, ‘If I won the lottery, this would be the house I’d buy.’ I didn’t feel the need to look anywhere else.

“Then, due to unexpected circumstances, I came into some inheritance. Suddenly, our dream home at Heritage Place was within reach, and my daughter and I were over the moon with excitement.

“We reserved the home in early November, expecting to move in by the New Year. Thanks to Bargate, the entire process was incredibly smooth. They offered a Part-Exchange option for our previous home, which made everything effortless. By December 18th, we were moved in and ready to spend Christmas in our beautiful new home – it was truly fantastic.

“The house itself is spacious, with a large hallway that’s a breath of fresh air. My dad, who uses a wheelchair, can finally visit us without any trouble, something he couldn’t do in our old home because of the tight spaces. The high ceilings and wider rooms have made a world of difference.

“Heritage Place is also in a wonderful location. With our dogs, it’s been a joy as we no longer need to drive to go for walks. We can simply stroll from our front door into the woods just opposite, or to nearby Lakeside Country Park. In fact, we love it here so much, we got another puppy this summer to add to the family – a beautiful black Labrador. She’s settled in so well and we’re all making the most of our new surroundings.

“My daughter’s school is still the same distance as before, but we’re now closer to the college she plans to attend in a few years. Plus, being so close to a bus stop and mainline train station, Callie loves the fact that she can travel easily with friends to places like Southampton, Winchester, Basingstoke or Bournemouth. She has more freedom, is very happy her, and I must say it’s a huge benefit to me as a working parent, especially in the school holidays.

Talking about the customer care with Bargate, Sarah continues: “The entire process with Bargate has been seamless. The sales team was exceptional – there wasn’t a single question they couldn’t answer or a request they couldn’t fulfil. Even after purchasing the house and before the move, I would occasionally drop by without an appointment to measure rooms for furniture, and they were always welcoming and helpful.

“I’ve had such a positive experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bargate to any of my friends or family.”

The location at Heritage Place offers excellent transport links by road and by rail, with Southampton Parkway Station just a short walk away, providing direct trains to London Waterloo in just over an hour. The mainline also connects to other key commuter destinations, including Southampton, Bournemouth, Winchester, Guildford and Portsmouth. For car users, Junction 5 of the M27 motorway, which links the southeast and southwest, as well as the M3 to London, is conveniently close to the development.
