• New dog agility park and public open space officially open at Shepherds Green

We have officially opened a new dog agility park and 17 acres of public open space and natural recreational greenspace at our Shepherds Green development in Hordle.

Open to both Shepherds Green residents and the wider community, the new green space provides extensive areas for walking and recreation, with the dedicated dog agility park already proving popular with local four-legged visitors.

Local Hordle resident Gracie Gallagher regularly visits with her dog Reggie. Gracie said: “My mum discovered it when she was out walking and we’ve been coming here regularly ever since. It’s great to have somewhere like this so close to home. If Reggie needs a quick run around, we can bring him here for 20 minutes and have a go at the agility course – or at least try!”

Matt Fordham moved to Shepherds Green with his wife Nicky in May and makes daily use of the new facilities with Poppy, their cockerpoo, and Dexter, their black Labrador.

Matt commented: “We’ve been on the Shepherd’s Green development since May, and our two dogs, Poppy and Dexter could not be happier. They use the dog park and field daily, from dawn until dusk. It’s a wonderful, convenient amenity that keeps them active, safe, and thoroughly entertained.”

Shepherds Green is Bargate’s 100th development and comprises 155 new homes in the New Forest village of Hordle. Located on Everton Road, approximately six miles from Brockenhurst and within easy reach of Lymington and the New Forest, the development offers a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with a show home available to view.

Current homes are available from £335,000 for a two-bedroom property with private garden and off-road parking. For more information, click here.

  • Bargate returns as Mayflower Theatre pantomime sponsor

We’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre as a proud local sponsor of this year’s Christmas pantomime, Robin Hood.

This marks our third consecutive year of sponsorship, having previously supported The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan in 2025 and Jack and the Beanstalk in 2024. This year’s performance stars Ashley Banjo and Diversity playing Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

Michael Ockwell, Chief Executive of Mayflower Theatre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bargate back as a sponsor of our annual pantomime.

“Their support of this spectacular production from Crossroads Pantomimes helps us share the joy of live theatre with thousands of people across Southampton and inspire the next generation of theatregoers.”

Mark White, Managing Director, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing Robin Hood bring laughter, adventure and festive magic to audiences across Southampton this Christmas.

“Supporting Mayflower Theatre for a third year is something we’re particularly proud of. As a housebuilder on Southampton’s doorstep, we believe that creating thriving communities goes beyond building new homes. It also means supporting the local organisations, cultural experiences and traditions that bring people together. Mayflower Theatre plays an important role in our region, and we’re delighted to continue our partnership.”

Along with our continued partnership comes a refreshed design for Mayflower’s reusable cups, featuring three new colourways in half pint and pint size. Sustainability is important to us at Bargate and we are proud to partner with Mayflower for another year to encourage a greener future.

Our Mayflower Theatre partnership is just one of the many ways we support the communities in which we build and work. From sponsoring grassroots sports clubs and local community initiatives to supporting professional sports teams and their affiliated charities, we’re committed to making a positive contribution across Hampshire and the surrounding region.

  • Final homes take shape at Heritage Place

Construction of the final homes at our award-winning Heritage Place development is now well underway. This is the very last phase of residential construction at North Stoneham Park, one of Hampshire’s most significant new communities.

Spanning a 120-acre historic deer park on the outskirts of Eastleigh, the wider North Stoneham Park development began construction in 2017 and, once complete, will deliver around 1,100 new homes.

Community facilities include Stoneham Park Primary Academy school, YMCA Eastleigh Community Centre with meeting spaces, nursery and a café, alongside retail units, extensive green space and new infrastructure. With the final homes at Heritage Place now under construction, the development is entering its concluding chapter after almost a decade of investment and growth.

Andrew French, Sales and Marketing Director at Bargate, said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the final homes taking shape at Heritage Place and to play a role in the completion of the wider North Stoneham Park community. Over the past nine years, this area has been transformed into a thriving new neighbourhood and we’re proud to be delivering the final homes within that vision.

“The remaining homes represent the last opportunity to purchase a brand-new property at North Stoneham Park. Buyers aren’t just moving into a new house, they’re joining a well-established community with excellent schools, green open space, local amenities and outstanding connectivity across Hampshire.”

The final homes available include a selection of three and four-bedroom properties, with buyers expected to be able to move in this year. Each home combines energy-efficient construction with generous living space and quality, contemporary specifications.

Located close to Southampton Airport Parkway, the M27 and Southampton city centre, Heritage Place offers excellent connectivity, while benefiting from the extensive parkland, walking routes and community facilities that have become defining features of North Stoneham Park.

Our development here was recognised with a Premier Guarantee Development of the Year award, reflecting the quality of its design, construction and our customer experience.

Prices start from £430,000 for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom detached home with a garage and off-road parking. For more information, click here.
