Our very own Forrest Gump has undertaken yet another challenge – running 26 miles across the South Downs.
The off-road South Downs Trail Marathon celebrated its 10th anniversary with 500 people tackling the hilly terrain.
Development Partner Katherine came 253rd in the field with a time of 4hrs 43mins – the winning time being 2hrs 57 mins.
Katherine said: “I’m really pleased with how I did. I’ve never run a marathon before only shorter road races such as the Great South Run. I really liked the idea of this challenge though because running through the Downs gives a much greater variety in scenery than you get with on road runs.
“Having recently completed the Isle of Wight Challenge – 66 miles around the island – I’ve promised my husband that I’ll have a rest now!”
