Callum is a Civil Engineering graduate that studied in Portsmouth, since then he has spent 3 months volunteering in Central America on a sustainable water management project. The project aimed to help local water councils in Nicaragua gain recognition from the government by providing training. Callum spent most of his time in a community called La Sandino, Rio Blanco and was was mostly responsible for planning the training program to coincide with an election that was needed in order to meet the requirements for the government recognition. He also spent time visiting members of the community to find people who were interested in being involved.
Once he came back from his travels he gained more valuable experience working on numerous projects around Southampton as a construction labourer. He then took up a graduate position as a structural engineer with a small consultancy in Wokingham, working mostly on traditional housing and medium to large sized apartment blocks.
Alongside his studies and work commitments he spends most his free time climbing and bouldering in climbing centres around the Hampshire area, as well as impressively climbing mountains around the UK, including The Three Peaks. He also plans to spend a night at the top of each of them.
We welcome Callum onto the team and are sure he will settle in quickly.
