Bordering the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this area’s relaxing, rural pace of life resonates through the village and beyond. Beloved through the ages, the charming village of Overton is nestled into the upper Test Valley of the Hampshire hills. Known for its mills, both corn and paper, the area is steeped in history and immersed in natural beauty. The village is home to Portals (now De la Rue) papermill and has been the source of bank note papers for nearly 300 years.
With open fields to the south and west, and playing fields to the east, Seven Acres is an ideal place for families or those who simply want a quiet life.
Rachel Davies, Design and Technical Director, tells us all about this standout location…
“When I first walked the site for Seven Acres, I was bowled over by it’s location – a crop field on the edge of the village, mature trees on its boundary and a cracking view across the rolling countryside.
As I ventured into the village centre, I was struck again that this development was going to be something special.
Signature homes mark each corner, leading you through meandering streets and creating interesting views. We’ve included footway and cycleway links with Sapley Lane and the parish playing fields – forging connections between our new community and the existing one.
The inspiration for these homes’ exteriors come from the quirky mix of cottages within the village. You’ll find gothic arches, steep-pitched porches, chimneys and projecting bay and sash windows.”
