There’s just something about Hampshire. It could be the proximity to the seaside, the beautiful National Parks, maybe it’s its historic cities or just how much there is to do. We love it all and one of our favourite things is that Hampshire is perfect for families!
Did you know? Hampshire is one of the Top 10 counties to raise a family according to a study by Witter Towbars. You’ll be happy to know that there are great stats like 91% of Hampshire’s schools have an Ofsted rating of good or outstanding and that here are 586 child-friendly activities throughout the county (those listed on Trip Advisor)! If our entire team didn’t already live here we’d be moving to Hampshire ourselves. (It’s also one of the best places to live near London!)
If you enjoy seaside adventures, you’re in luck! Hampshire has an amazing mix of stone and sandy beaches including, Hayling Island, Lepe Beach, and Chichester Harbour (an Area of Outstanding Beauty). There are scenic coastal paths, great for walking or horse riders, beaches for relaxing or to use a basecamp for water sports or sailing. You can even get your sea fishing fix and catch bream, plaice, flounder, mackerel, and more.
If spending time under the forest canopy is more your style, there are woodlands in abundance. From New Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth Country Park or West Walk, you can while away the hours exploring on your own two feet. Whether you want to enjoy mountain biking or a relaxed walk, you can find something for everyone. There are some amazing activity centres in the woods as well, including Go Ape! adventure parks to the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre.
You won’t have to spend ALL your time outdoors if you don’t want to. Hampshire is home to amazing museums, aquariums, stately homes and castles (of course), as well as live music and stage shows. You won’t have to travel far to get your culture fix, and if you wanted to, London is just a few hours away on the M3.
All that’s left is to find the perfect family home in Hampshire. Whether you’re looking for a new build or a second-hand property you’ll find pretty villages and historic cities throughout. Just decide what your perfect mix is of city, country, forest and sea.
