Why spend hours traipsing knee-deep in mud, completely out of breath up the side of a mountain when you could still raise money for a great cause but with a brew in your hand? Quite frankly, we weren’t sure either. With that in mind, we’ve decided to twist the famous Three Peaks Challenge to better suit our endurance levels and embark on the, ever so slightly less gruelling, ‘3 Caf Challenge’ – motorcycling across the beautiful Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex countryside, stopping at three fantastic biker cafes en route. Bargate Chairman Gerard Price and Construction director Andy Kirkpatrick will be saddling up and clipping on their helmets on Saturday 3 October in the hope to raise £1000 for ‘Brainstrust’ – a charity which supports and improves the outcome for people living with brain tumours. They are starting from Loomies Cafe in West Meon, at 8:30am where they’ll begin their ascent – 45 miles to Box Hill, Dorking, where a free bacon roll and coffee will await their arrival, then onto Bury Hill in West Sussex for the final “peak” of their journey. Anyone can join Bargate’s very own ‘Hairy’ Bikers by either getting on their bikes or meeting them at the cafes. It’s £10 per bike. To book a place contact Andy K on 07766 470761
